I just love this clean and modern design by Washington D.C. interior designer Lisa & Leroy. Things of note with this shoot: Once again, there is a mix of natural light and studio light happening. The result, and my style here overall, is quite natural. There is a mix of wider room shots and tighter detail shots. I believe both are important. Especially when the details are as gorgeous as these. (That pendant light in the living room! That kitchen faucet! You get the idea.) The very stylish and minimal T.V. in the living room we left powered off, with the intent of replacing the picture on the screen in post. The image there is a photograph by an artist friend of Lisa’s and it fits the vibe perfectly. The key to superimposing an image like this in post is to not set the opacity of the image to 100, but a lesser degree. Allowing the original reflections to show through keeps it looking like the reflective surface it is.
There are so many elements I enjoy about this space, but I think the custom media wall is my favorite. Such a creative answer to the age-old question “What should I do with the T.V.?”
